New Regina Public Library Board Chair elected
Regina Public Library Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Sean Quinlan to serve as Board Chair.
Quinlan joined the RPL Board of Directors in 2014.
“I am looking forward to serving the citizens of Regina as RPL Board Chair,” Quinlan said. “The Board will build on the strengths of the organization and lead it into the future, and ensure it continues to provide excellent service for our community.”
A former broadcaster and journalist, Quinlan currently serves as a private marketing/communications consultant. Prior to his current role, he owned and operated a management consulting firm for a number of private and public clients.
Quinlan has previously served as Executive Director of the Regina Chamber of Commerce, Director of Marketing and Organization for the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club, and as a Director of Communications for the Government of Saskatchewan. He currently serves on the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region Board of Directors, and was a Chairperson of the Employment Insurance Board of Referees for Saskatchewan from 2008 to 2013.
“Sean’s dedication to the community is well known,” Library Director/CEO Jeff Barber said. “His leadership of the Board will help ensure the library continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of our community.”
Quinlan replaces former Board Chair Darryl Lucke.
Other RPL Board moves include the appointment of Barbara March-Burwell as Deputy Chair. A Board member since 2014, March-Burwell is an investment and wealth adviser and a Certified Financial Planner with RBC Dominion Securities.
Elmer Brenner, an RPL Board Member since 2015, has been appointed Board representative to the Saskatchewan Library Trustees’ Association (SLTA).
