Happy Birthday Canada!
 
As part of the Canada's 150th celebrations, branches throughout the region have events planned for July 1st and beyond. From Pierceland Library in the north which is planning a book sale and games day on July 1st to the Radisson Library  in the south which is supporting the Canada Day celebrations in Radisson.

There is something for everyone - contact your local branch to find out what is planned for July and beyond!
Lakeland Summer Players
 
Our annual 'Lakeland Players' program is starting again this year to coincide with the 2017 TD Summer Reading Program. A variety of puppet shows, book readings, songs, games and science experiments will be offered this year to participants throughout the region. Edam Library - Had a very succesful "TD Summer Reading Club" launch with a BBQ, Bean Bag Toss, 3D Printer and Button Maker
Meadow Lake Library - Matthew sharing his favourite reads by making a book display
Denzil - The local library took part in the Denzil Days Parade with this colorful float - much fun was had by all participants in the parade
Cut Knife Library - Toffee the Library Cat trying to get down from the library cart after a hard day at work
Borden - The Lakeland Library Region van took part in the annual 'Diefenbaker Daze' Festival parade - many enjoyed the new logo/look
Allie Raycraft from Meota received the SLTA ‘Honourary Life Membership Award’ at the 2017 Saskatchewan Libraries Association Conference. Allie has been active with Lakeland Library Region for over 20 years, and her expertise and positive attitude will be greatly missed. Dennis Taylor, the current Lakeland Library Regional Board Chair presented the award on behalf of the SLTA (Saskatchewan Library Trustees' Association)
The 2017 TD Summer Reading Program has now been launched! This is Canada's biggest and most popular, bilingual and accessible summer reading program and it is designed for kids of all ages and abilities - click here for more information

Canada’s 150th 'Passport to Summer Reading'


Our annual Summer Reading Challenge is back! This years program will run from July 1st to Sept 4th and will compliment the TD Summer Reading Program. We have some great prizes for everyone who participates.

The prizes this year include:

Youth - Badminton Set or Ice Cream Maker
Adult - Picnic Set or Coffee/Tea Gift Basket
