Saskatchewan Library Week - "Libraries Matter"
 
Its time to celebrate Saskatchewan Library Week (SLW), an annual province wide event that promotes the wonderful resources and services that libraries offer throughout the province. 

This years theme is "Libraries Matter!" and we have multiple branch events sponsored by the SLA (Saskatchewan Library Association) - click here to see events taking place across the province and don't forget to check the Lakeland Library Region Calendar for events near you by clicking here

Lastly, there are numerous ways to get involved with Saskatchewan Library Week, continue reading below to learn about some fun province wide contests for 2017.
Summer Reading Program Wrapup
 
Our “Passport to Summer Reading” program celebrating Canada's 150th was a big success and we have plenty of ballots coming in for some cool prizes - Draws will take place on Sept 14th so you still have time to enter a ballot! click here for more information.

The annual TD Summer Reading Club program is also drawing to a close - we have had good attendance region-wide and we are looking forward to receiving our final participation numbers in September.

Speers Library - Wide selection of prizes for the Summer Reading Program (all ages included)
Paradise Hill Library - Has a beautiful and very well detailed  homemade dollhouse for patron use.
Meadow Lake Library - Soapstone carving fun - can't wait to see the finished project!

North Battleford Library - Celebrated Storyteller Danica Lorer taking part in the annual 'Concert in the Park'!
Lakeland Library Region is happy to welcome Richard Bee as the new Librarian for the North Battleford Library. He is from Manitoba and graduated with his masters from the University of Alberta. (Edmonton) - when you get a chance, pop in and welcome Richard to North Battleford.

We also are bidding farewell to our departing Librarian Amanda Foster, who will be missed by all the staff here - Thank you for all the hardwork and positive changes you brought to the North Battleford Library.

What My Library Does for Me! - A Teen Essay Contest" - The SLTA is sponsoring a teen essay writing contest running from Sept 5th to Nov. 1st - click here to learn more about the cool prizes available and on how to enter.
 
Website Feature for Sept/Oct: 'Reading List'

Did you know that you can create your own personalized reading list? Use this to keep track of titles that you would like to borrow or place a hold on in the future.

Simply login to your library account from the Lakeland Library Region homepage and find a title that interests you, then simply add the title to your 'Reading List' so you can place a hold or check it out later.

Lakeland Summer Players 2017


A big thank you to our Lakeland Summer Players for 2017 - Aliya and Liam who toured the region reading stories, doing puppet shows, conducting experiments, and singing songs. We had a total of 16 shows throughout the region at both literacy camps and libraries.
