Regina Public Library takes another leap towards becoming the library of the future with the opening of a one-of-a-kind Digital Media Studio, offering the Regina community unprecedented access to cutting-edge tech.

The Digital Media Studio is an interactive space with specialized hardware, equipment and software that will give library customers the opportunity to explore, collaborate, and learn about digital media, and create professional quality audio and video productions. It includes an 8’ x 16’ WhisperRoomTM sound isolation chamber equipped with sound recording studio equipment, and a selection of in-house musical instruments.

The Digital Media Studio will also include a green screen and video recording equipment, enabling customers to capture raw video footage, and edit it using professional quality software on one of four high-end post production multimedia computer workstations.

The event will include greetings from Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety; Michael Fougere, Mayor of Regina; and Sean Quinlan, Chairman of Regina Public Library.

The Digital Media Studio will be open to the public on March 12.

Guests and member of the media will have the opportunity to explore the space and test the equipment. Refreshments will be served.
