Back in August 2017, John Csapo activated his library card at the Wakaw Public Library in order to access music instruction material. He found exactly what he needed to enhance his fiddle playing skills. Once he felt confident, he returned to the library, fiddle in hand, to perform an impromptu concert for staff and fellow patrons.
Since then, John has become a regular patron of the library, borrowing books and other materials to further his musical talent and general knowledge. In late September of this year, John returned to the library to again demonstrate newly honed skills, this time with a harmonica. What resulted was a lively concert as he entertained patrons and staff with several favorite tunes.
Mr. Csapo's quest for knowledge is a typical example of how patrons use public libraries to better themselves and their communities at any age.
