Wapiti Regional Library Helping Kids Learn at Home

During this period of school and library closures due to COVID-19, Wapiti Regional Library is a positive force assisting parents and their children who are currently learning from home. Using their library card, patrons may access Wapiti's free online e-Resources that include a wide range of topics and interests.

For kids, the Homework Support database provides access to history, science, literature, and other resources for K - 12 students. TumbleMath offers eBooks for Kindergarten through grade 6, and Kids InfoBits is an easy-to-use collection featuring age-appropriate, curriculum-related content covering a broad range of topics.

For the younger child, TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of animated, talking picture books that teach the joy of reading. Children can choose to read the eBooks or have TumbleBooks read them aloud.

Some of our vendors have temporarily made available additional services to assist parents and children. Visit our Learning from Home webpage to access educational e-Resources and links to other fun, learning opportunities online.

Databases such as Library2go, hoopla, Canadian Newsstand, PressReader, Flipster, and Naxos Music Library offer eBooks, audioBooks, online newspapers, graphic novels, movies, and music. For history buffs, Frontier Life captures the experiences of people living on the edge of European settlement across the frontiers of North America, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
