On November 1, 2019, Spiritwood Public Library hosted an anniversary celebration for Branch Librarian Joyce Carriere. Library Board Members, patrons, friends, family, and Wapiti Regional Library's Community Services Librarian gathered to celebrate and thank Joyce for 40 years of dedicated service to the library, and to the town of Spiritwood. Joyce began work at the library on November 1, 1978 as a substitute, but within the year, became Branch Librarian.
Library Board Chair Kay Willson's speech included a quote from writer/producer Sidney Sheldon, "Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life." Our dedicated Branch Librarians help make this true. Thank you Joyce, for your 40 years of service.
