John Yung

SASKATCHEWAN LIBRARY TRUSTEES' ASSOCIATION

Honorary Life Membership
In Recognition of

John Yung

John Yung served as reeve of R.M. #69 Norton from 1963 to 1969. During this period, the Southeast Regional Library was being promoted and developed. John was a strong supporter of the regional library concept and took an active role in the establishment of the region through participation in the region's steering committee and his promotion of both the local library in Pangman and the region as a whole. John was the driving force behind the establishment of the Pangman Library Board in 1966 and placed a key role in the relocation of the branch into a newer facility in 1987.

In 1966, John started serving as a trustee on both the Pangman Local Library Board and on the Southeast Regional Library board. John continues in both of these capacities to this day. John also served on the Southeast Regional Library Executive from 1970 to 1976 and from 1978 to 1992. John has regularly attended Saskatchewan Library Trustees' Association conventions and has been a strong supporter of the work of the Saskatchewan Library Trustees' Association for the past 25 years.

It is with deep appreciation that the Southeast Regional Library Executive nominated John Yung for the Saskatchewan Library Trustees I Association honourary life membership. Without John's active participation and continuous leadership, the public library system in our corner of the province would have been much impoverished.

John, thank you for your many years of timeless devotion to quality public library service.
